“Melissa” and her pet dog, “Muffin”, were inspired by those beautiful antique dolls popular at the turn-of-the-century. Lovingly reproduced, they recapture the past and steal hearts anew.
This is Melissa…she is all dressed up for a Valentines’ Day party. Isn’t she elegant in her brilliant red frock with an over-skirt of white Venetian lace? She’s carrying a basket full of Valentine cards she received from her many friends. Her dog Muffin has a card for her too.
Melissa and Muffin are one of a kind dolls made from an out of print fabric panel, and although the fabric is out of print, the fabric is as new.
Melissa is an 18 inch pillow doll with white heart buttons on her shoes, pink and white satin hearts in her basket, red ribbon accent on her basket, a white flower accent in her hair and a white flower accent on the back of her dress. Muffin is Melissa’s 6 inch terrier dog with a red bow accent on one ear and a white heart button accent on the Valentine in its mouth.
These pillow dolls are so practical because when the little one gets tired and sleepy, the doll may be used as a pillow and because the dolls are not likely to cause any harm when played with or taken to bed. The fabric and stuffing is non-toxic, made in the USA..
I am not a professional seamstress, so if you are expecting perfection please do not purchase. These dolls are made to express my love for babies and children.
